1. The service
Brussels Culture Watchlist ("the service") helps you discover and track cultural events in and around Brussels. Event information is collected from third-party sources — venue websites, organiser pages and event platforms — and from entries added by users.
2. Accounts
You need an account to use the service. You are responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for the activity on your account. You must be at least 16 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
3. Accuracy of event data
We do not organise the events listed and we do not guarantee that dates, times, prices, venues or availability are correct. Always confirm details with the organiser before travelling or buying tickets. Where a source cannot be read automatically we say so rather than guess.
4. Free and Pro plans
The Free plan gives you the full watchlist over the events we store. The Pro plan costs €5 per month or €31 per year and additionally unlocks AI search across external event aggregators. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing; access continues until the end of the paid period. Statutory withdrawal rights for EU consumers apply.
5. Acceptable use
Do not scrape, resell or bulk-export the service, submit unlawful content, or add sources you have no right to submit. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
6. Your content
Events, sources and saved searches you add remain yours. You grant us the licence needed to store and display them inside the service. Events and sources are shared with other users; your saved searches, planned events and alerts are private to you.
7. What we collect and how it is used
When you use the service we collect and store:
- Account data — your email address, password (hashed by our auth provider), sign-up date and the version of these terms you accepted.
- Your preferences — saved searches and intents, followed sources and events, planned events, likes, alert settings, hidden/muted categories, series and types of event, and the optional reason you give when hiding something.
- Location at area level — the home area (municipality/city) you set or allow us to detect, used to rank nearby events. We do not track your live location.
- Usage data — searches you run (including AI searches), the filters you apply, the events and links you open, and technical error reports.
- Cookies — an essential cookie for your session and for your cookie choice; with your consent, preference cookies (last filters, page size) and product analytics.
We use this to run and improve the service: to show you relevant events, send the digests and alerts you asked for, prevent abuse, and understand which sources and event types people actually want.
8. Insights shared with organisers and paying customers
The service is free for event-goers because organisers and other paying customers can subscribe to aggregated, de-identified insights about demand for their events. By creating an account — on the Free plan as well as Pro — you agree that the data described in section 7 may be used to produce such insights and feedback, for example: how many people viewed, saved, planned, followed, liked or hid an event or organiser; which searches and event types are trending; and which areas interest is coming from. The anonymous reason you optionally give when hiding an event may be passed on as feedback.
We never sell your personal data, and we never share your name, email address, account identifier, individual profile or individual event list with organisers or paying customers. Insights are only shared in aggregate, and small counts are withheld or grouped where they could single out one person. You can export or delete all of your data at any time from Settings → Privacy & data; deletion also removes your personal data from future insights.
9. Liability
The service is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service or from inaccurate third-party event information.
10. Changes and contact
